Ohhhh goodness! My mother-in-law gave us a cookbook a little while ago, and I was very hesitant. I get all of my recipes from Allrecipes.com, make sure they have great ratings by a TON of people before I will make them. Gotta make sure they are delicious right?! Right. Anywho one of my goals for this year is to make at least one more "new to us" recipe a week. Don't get me wrong, we make our dinners fresh every night, but usually do some type of salad and meat thing, or one of our faves. And bless my hubby's heart, he makes me dinner when I work late:-) Keeper!
So I go into this book a skeptic. BUT have changed my mind. Yummy! Yesterday I made Roasted Littleneck Clams Puttanesca Style, and today I made Asian Mushroom Lettuce Wraps. YUM!
What makes this even more exciting for me is that we did ALL of our shopping this week organic. You'd think it'd cost a lot more, and who has the $$ these days to do so? BUT I can tell you it didn't, we shopped smart and spent the same as we normally do. Trader Joe'sROCKS! And our new butcher is amazing. I guess it's a sign I'm getting old because I get excited about dumb stuff like this, but oh well I think it's pretty freakign cool:-).
So . . . that's my lil blurb for the day. Now off to the gym to work off the weight I'll gain eating it all!
Tomorrow: my mission to "girl-ify" my good friend Bekah. Taking her shopping!!! We have alist of must have's, etc. My friends all say I should have a show like "What Not to Wear" . . . ha ha will keep you posted!
Good Night!
P.S. This is my good friend Curly:-)
